10. The Pied Piper

9. The Little Red Riding Hood
In my lalala kindergarten version:
- Red Riding Hood & Grandma are saved by a woodsman who cut open the wolf's stomach.
In the original French version:
- No woodsman, no grandmother.
- Red Riding Hood is purely asking a wolf directions to her grandma's house, takes his advice and ite, gets eaten up.
- Moral of story: Not to take advice from strangers
8. The Little Mermaid
In my lalala kindergarten version:
- Ariel drinks a special potion from a witch, turns into a human and marries Eric, the prince, and live happily ever after.
In the first version:
- Ariel sees the prince marrying a princess and despairs.
- She is offered a knife to stab the prince to death, yet chooses to jump into the sea and dies, turning into froth and bubbles, becoming the daughter of air.
7. Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs
In my lalala kindergarten version:
- The Queen wants the huntsman to kill Snow White and demands him to bring back her heart as proof.
In the original tale:
- The Queen asks for Snow White's livers and lungs instead, and wants them to be served as dinner that night.
In my lalala kindergarten version:
- Snow White recovers after the prince kisses her lips.
In the original tale:
- Snow White wakes up when she is jostled by the prince's horse when they are on the way to the castle.
6. Sleeping Beauty
In my lalala kindergarten version:
- Sleeping Beauty is put to sleep when her finger is pricked on a splindle.
- She sleeps for a hundred years before the prince kisses her, and she (amazingly like the Snow White) wakes up and they live happily ever after.
In the original version:
- No prince.
- The king finds her asleep, rapes her and after nine months she gives birth to two babies while still asleep.
- One of her children sucks her finger which removes the flax in her finger which causes her to be asleep.
- Sleeping Beauty wakes up, finding herself a mother of two.
